Cherry Run Trestle Remnants
The old Atlantic Coastline ran through Parmele to Wharton Station and then largely parallel to Highway 264, by the power plant, and then down the middle of Third Street before turning to the ACL depot and station on Gladden Street between Main and Second Streets, and on to the Washington waterfront. Little trace remains of the route now. There is a little left of the trestle across Cherry Run at the western city limit of Washington.
