Sunday’s experimental rocket launch on the Pamlico

Recent privatization of space flight has brought different approaches to the rocketry business. One such partnerships  between Virgin Airways and local marine manufacturer Executioner Speedboats that uses a floating launch platform. The philosophy helps move the whole operation more readily as neighborhood complaints about the noise reach a crescendo. This is the early Sunday morning first launch of the partnership held on the Pamlico River between Washington Park and Whichards Beach.

Of course, you know what today is. This is a rerun of one of the April Fool photos I was allowed to run on the front of The Washington Daily News back in the early and mid-1990s. Please excuse the crude work—Photoshop was only in about version 3, and I was barely computer experienced.
