Only one shoreline serves Beaufort County. Carolina Coastal Railway has leased trackage from Norfolk Southern for more than 20 years now. They run the Wilson to Chocowinity route and routes from Chocowinity to Pinetown, Plymouth, and Belhaven. The only other non-Class One sights are the occasional peeks one can get of the yard equipment at the phosphate mine outside Aurora.
