Military train rolls through New Bern
So you have a military unit to train. You are stationed on one side of the country, and your training site is on the other. How are you going to get all your equipment from one place to the other without every motor sergeant on the base stroking out? You sure as the devil aren’t going to drive all that equipment. Call the railroad!
Always ready to see something fresh, I was excited to get word from a railfan buddy that a military train was headed my way. I hopped in the car and headed south, catching up to the train south of New Bern. I later photographed it moving across the Trent River and tying down in New Bern’s freight yard.
