New Bern’s rail passenger station was built in 1910 and abandoned in 1987. But, a group of New Bern residents want to make it live again. Here is a collection of photos I took of the restoration work during August. As with many railroad architecture rescues, the final purpose is not yet known, but build it, and they will come. The station formerly served Norfolk Southern, ACL, and the Atlantic & NC.
