New Track for WL Line

The first six miles of ribbon rail have arrived for the rerailing of the train line from Phosphate Junction in Washington to the Lee Creek phosphate mine in Aurora. The rail is delivered in quarter-mile lengths mounted on a string of special cars. The ties are only bolted down at the center of each rail so they are free to bend and move back and forth as the cars run curves along the route. The first load is now place beside the track from the mine back to Edward awaiting MOW crews to fasten it to the ties which have already been worked. One load down, four to go.
