CSX Trains 01

Every day, CSX runs a train (727) from Greenville through Chocowinity to the phosphate mine in Aurora and back. It usually moves at night, but in early January, it took a spill on broken track near Blounts Creek. That sorta screwed up the schedules and equipment for a few days. I got to catch 727 with its usual two-loco consist and a helper from the Greenville Yard.

I chased it later after it was combined with some mixed freight in Greenville and continued on to Rocky Mount as F728. I ha been wanting to catch a train passing the old store at the NC 30 crossing near Stokes—finally got lucky…
